Inter-school tournaments

While it’s most commonly seen in the summer, it’s also played in the winter. You’ll find the game in schools in the UK, and it’s a fun way to spend a few hours.

To give you an idea of how popular the sport has become, there are currently about 5,500 students enrolled at the Abu Dhabi Indian School. The school has even played in the Arabian Cricket Festival tournament, where they fought off the challenge of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Arab Pakistan School to win the U14 title.
Getting Cricket Students Involved in Sport

To be eligible to participate in the ECB’s Safeguarding Young Cricketers programme, you must have a current DBS. ECB e-learning will provide you with your username and password.
As well as offering a range of qualifications, the ECB also runs a support coach programme. It aims to support qualified cricket coaches by providing them with additional knowledge and confidence to enhance players’ experience.
Coaches of all ages and abilities can be eligible to apply for an ECB Support Coach course. There are two levels – Foundation and Core.
Both levels are designed for adults who are over 16 and are looking to become qualified cricket coaches. Once you’ve completed the foundation level, you can continue to the core coach course.
ECB Coach
The ECB Coach Developer course consists of two e-learning modules. Each module also has its guidance notes.
A range of aspiring cricket coaches has already participated in the ECB Coach Developer programme. The course was developed in consultation with a variety of cricket industry experts. Access to high-profile ex-players is valuable for coaches looking to expand their knowledge and improve their performance.
Currently, more than 30 sports offer coach education programmes that meet UK Coaching Certificate standards. Some of these are provided by NGBs. Others are organised locally.
