Best Sport Facilities in the UK

The UK is home to a number of top class sport facilities. Whether you are looking for the ultimate hockey arena or a great place to play tennis, there is plenty of choice. We’ve put together a list of the best sports venues in the country, from sporting and leisure centres to golf courses.

Tooting Bec Lido Sport Facilities

Tooting Bec Lido is one of the best sport facilities in the UK. Located in South West London, the 116-year-old facility offers one of the largest outdoor swimming pools in the city, and the best of it is open to the public during the summer months.

The pool has plenty of room for swimmers to splash about in, and it is ideal for children and adults who are serious about their fitness. During the summer, the pool is a popular destination for locals and tourists. It is also a popular location for advertorial “shoots”.

When the pool was first opened in 1906, the South London Swimming Club (SLSC) commissioned its construction. The SLSC’s scheme involved the demolition of the southern entrance structure and the creation of a new, larger entrance and new cubicles.

The SLSC has been a partner in the refurbishment of Tooting Bec Lido since 1999. They have contributed PS100,000 towards the project. This money will help fund the replacement of the existing pump house, and improve the landscaping around the water’s edge. A new UV water purification system is also planned.
