Heel and Toe
Heel and Toe was established in 2008, following it was realized that therapy for children services were hard to find across North East. North East.
It was decided in the beginning of the journey of the charity ‘No child should be denied therapy because of a lack of Funds’.
Heel & Toe Children’s Charity was founded in June 2008. The not-for-profit charity was granted charity status on September 4th, 2008, and the centre inaugurated on October 4, 2008, providing the opportunity to receive FREE conductive education for children with Cerebral Palsy as an annex within the Meadows School in Spennymoor County Durham.
Increased demand for charity services
Due to the increasing demand for the services provided by Heel & Toe it was determined in 2009 that the need for a new facility was evident.
The trustees made the decision to move to a central area within County Durham, and found the right premises for rent located in Framwellgate Moor.
This made traveling to the charity’s headquarters in the North as well as South within the same region a lot easier. The satellite center situated in Darlington was also created.
The demand continued to grow for the variety of services available at Heel & Toe. In the year 2012, the trustees of the charity decided it was the right time to locate and acquire an establishment that could become an inheritance for the parents and children of County Durham in the North of England.
The premises were discovered in Pelton and funding was secured to upgrade a facility to serve children from Pelton in the North East Region.
The goal of the board of trustees to establish a center of excellence in the provision of a range of therapies that will benefit children and their families for years to come.
It is only possible to achieve this goal with the continuous support of people in north-east North East and beyond.
The center is an official Beacon of Excellence and offer many therapies within one location that improve the lives of everyone users.
