Welcome to England’s only mountain forest. Whinlatter Forest is home to stunning views and beautiful landscapes. Both can be enjoyed on our all-terrain Forest Segways.

This year, two brand new high-ropes activities were also unveiled. Our Treetop Adventure is a classic activity that’s open to children and families younger than 20 years old. It opens on August 20th. For the more adventurous explorers, Treetop Adventure plus is available.
Keep an eye out for Spring 2023 – Treetop Challenge will return. This course is brand new and will surprise and excite.
You’ll feel the excitement as you wind your way through Thornwaite Forest on your way to Whinlatter Forest park. As you climb higher and higher into the sky, it’s an amazing journey. This World Heritage Site offers breathtaking views of the forest, hillsides and fells.
You will feel like you are flying into the air as you travel from one end to the other. Just wait until you reach the top platforms. As you climb from treetops to treetops, enjoy the sensation of space and mountain air. Our Forest Segway offers a unique experience with unparalleled views of Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater.
Whinlatter Forest is a great place to cycle if you are a keen cyclist. It has been described as “putting the mountain back in biking”
It is home to one of the longest mountain bike trails in Lake District. There’s also a trail for mountain biking orienteering.
Whinlatter is not only a great place to thrill-seekers, but also offers a lot of family fun. You can either take the WildPlay trail, which offers nine play zones, or you can visit the fairy kingdom with hidden carvings and secret paths for younger children.
